“Considering the commission’s decades of poor record keeping and oversight, and recent severe contamination events across the state of Texas related to abandoned wells and injection wells, we cannot support the RRC’s pre-application for Class VI primacy from the EPA,” a coalition of Texas environmental groups and individual advocates including RRC watchdog group Commission Shift said in July comments on the RRC’s proposed amendments.
